Pantene is a shampoo brand from Procter & Gamble. Hoffman LaRoche, a company from Switzerland, first created it in 1947. The name Pantene was taken from one of the major ingredients of the shampoo called panthenol. The Company was then purchased by Procter & Gamble in 1985. It was one of the first shampoo brands to be marketed as a health product. Thus, the company focused on the brand’s pro vitamin formulation.
